CTK is a BOTW Series project crafted as a cinematic, story-driven website for a modern chess community. The experience blends atmospheric 3D renders, historical photography, and refined editorial layout to communicate the legacy and strategic mindset behind the club.

The site captures chess as a lifelong discipline - using moody lighting, monochrome visuals, and immersive composition to highlight how every move shapes growth, memory, and mastery.

CheckMateKing (CTK) is a BOTW‑series project: a cinematic, story‑driven website for a modern chess community. The brief was to communicate chess as a lifelong discipline — legacy, strategy and mental strength — through an atmospheric, editorial experience.

Chess content skews either purely functional (game tools) or dry and historical. The challenge was to make a community feel cinematic and aspirational.

We used Blender‑rendered 3D chess scenes for a dramatic hero, a photo‑wall layout to showcase heritage and community history, and a minimal page loader with soft gradient noise and circular motion cues. Moody lighting, monochrome visuals and a serif‑sans typography pairing carry the theme of growth through every move.

The scope covered 3D rendering and visual production in Blender, UI/UX design, editorial web layout, motion design and loader development, photography art direction and BOTW‑series visual‑language integration. Tournaments, events and milestones are structured in a clean editorial grid.

CTK launched as a premium chess‑community website — a narrative‑heavy experience that frames strategy and discipline as culture, unified by a grayscale palette, deep shadows and cinematic composition.
